Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and scope

The data controller for the Steady On iOS app and this website is Przemysław Bocer, an independent developer based in Poland ("we"). You can contact us about privacy at support@bytechimera.com.

Steady On was developed under the working name Steadily; this policy covers the same app under both names.

This policy explains how the Steady On iOS app and this website handle information. Steady On was designed under the privacy by design principle: the app requires no account and operates no server that could receive your data.

2. Data collection (in short: none)

Steady On runs 100% offline:

• No personal data collected: no account, no name, no email address, no identifiers.
• No external servers: the app connects to no backend or API. Your habits, entries, and statistics never leave your device.
• No analytics or ads: no third-party analytics tools (such as Firebase or Mixpanel), no crash-reporting SDKs, no ad networks.
• No cloud sync: the app does not use CloudKit or iCloud sync to transmit your data.

Under Apple's App Store guidelines, data processed only locally on the device and never sent anywhere is not considered "collected." Steady On's App Privacy label therefore reads: "Data Not Collected."

3. Where your data is stored

Everything you enter into Steady On is stored only in your device's local storage, using Apple's native technologies (SQLite via SwiftData). Your in-app preferences (color theme, language, appearance) are saved locally via UserDefaults, and file timestamps are used to manage the local database files. The app's Privacy Manifest declares these APIs are used solely for on-device operation, not tracking (NSPrivacyTracking = false).

Uninstalling Steady On removes all of its data from your device. If you have iCloud device backup enabled, your Steady On data may be included in your encrypted device backup like any other app's data. That backup is controlled by you and managed by Apple under Apple's terms — we have no access to it.

4. Device permissions and system integrations

Steady On uses native iOS features in a fully local way:

• Local notifications: if you enable habit reminders, the app asks for notification permission. Reminders are scheduled and delivered entirely by your device (UNUserNotificationCenter); no notification data is sent to any server.
• Widgets (WidgetKit): home-screen and lock-screen widgets read your progress through a secure, local App Group container shared between the app and its widgets.
• Siri & Shortcuts (App Intents): marking habits by voice is processed directly on your device.
• Export and import (JSON/CSV): you can export your data to JSON or CSV files. The export happens entirely on your device; you decide where the file goes and who receives it.

Note: Steady On has no HealthKit integration and no access to your health data. It also uses no artificial-intelligence or machine-learning services and sends nothing to external language models.

5. This website

This website is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages, operated by Cloudflare, Inc. (United States). When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as your IP address, user agent, and requested URL in order to deliver the pages and secure them against attacks and abuse. Cloudflare acts as our processor for this hosting, and may process the data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States; those transfers are covered by the standard contractual clauses in Cloudflare's data processing addendum. The Steady On pages set no cookies of their own, load no analytics or advertising scripts, and use only the fonts already on your device; Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if its bot protection is active.

6. Your rights (GDPR and U.S. state privacy laws)

Although Steady On collects no data on any server, laws such as the GDPR (EU/EEA), the CCPA/CPRA (California) and comparable U.S. state laws still protect you. Because we hold no copy of your data, control lies entirely in your hands:

• Access and portability: use the Export function in the app's settings at any time to download a copy of all your entries.
• Erasure ("right to be forgotten"): to permanently delete all your data, simply uninstall the app.
• No sale or sharing: we do not collect your data, so we never sell, rent, or share it with any third party — data brokers and ad networks included.

If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Poland: the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, UODO). For any legal rights request or question, write to support@bytechimera.com.

7. Children (COPPA)

Steady On is safe for users of any age. Because it runs fully offline and collects no personal data whatsoever, it complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent rules protecting minors. The app has no accounts, no social features, and no advertising.

8. Changes

This policy may be updated when Steady On's features or legal obligations change (for example, new iOS capabilities in future versions). Significant changes will be published at this same URL, and the "Last updated" date above identifies the current version.
