Astrofuse for iPhone
Privacy Policy
Astrofuse is a free planet-merging puzzle. It has no accounts and no server of ours. Your saves and high scores stay on your iPhone. The game is funded by short, optional rewarded ads served by Google AdMob, and this policy explains exactly what that involves.
Effective: September 5, 2026 · Last updated: September 5, 2026
1. Who we are and scope
The data controller for the Astrofuse iOS app (listed on the App Store as Astrofuse: Merge Planets) and this website is Przemysław Bocer, an independent developer based in Poland ("we"). You can contact us about privacy at support@bytechimera.com.
This policy explains how the Astrofuse app and this website handle information. It covers two very different things: what we do (almost nothing, because the game keeps everything on your device) and what Google does when it serves an ad inside the game (described in section 4). We wrote it so you can tell those apart.
2. What we collect ourselves: nothing
Astrofuse has no account system, no login, and no backend operated by us:
- No personal data: we never ask for a name, email address, phone number, or any identifier.
- No server of ours: the game does not send your scores, saves, or gameplay to us. There is no leaderboard service, no cloud save, and no sync.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK of ours: we run no Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar tools and receive no telemetry about how you play.
- No purchases: the game has no in-app purchases, so no payment data is processed inside it.
The only network activity in Astrofuse is the advertising described in section 4. If you are offline, the game plays normally and the ad buttons simply do not appear.
3. What stays on your device
Everything the game remembers is stored only in your iPhone's local app storage:
- your current run, best score, biggest planet reached, and longest combo;
- your StarDust balance (the in-game currency used for power-ups);
- your sound, music, and vibration preferences;
- whether you have already seen the tracking prompt described in section 5.
None of this leaves your device, and none of it identifies you. Deleting the app deletes all of it. If you have iCloud device backup enabled, this data may be included in your encrypted device backup like any other app's data. That backup is controlled by you and managed by Apple under Apple's terms; we have no access to it.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Astrofuse is free and shows rewarded video ads that you choose to watch: to continue a run after game over, or to earn extra StarDust. The game never interrupts play with an ad, and every ad is behind a button you tap yourself.
Ads are served by Google AdMob, part of Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, the responsible Google entity is Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google acts as an independent controller for the data it processes to serve and measure ads; we do not receive that data, only aggregated statistics such as how many ads were shown.
When the game loads or shows an ad, the Google Mobile Ads SDK built into Astrofuse sends Google information such as:
- Device and app details: device model, iOS version, language, screen size, the app's bundle identifier, and the SDK version;
- Network information: your IP address, from which Google may derive a coarse location (roughly city level) and network type;
- Advertising identifiers: your device's Advertising Identifier (IDFA), but only if you allowed tracking in the prompt described in section 5. Otherwise Google receives no IDFA and relies on Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork attribution instead;
- Ad interaction data: which ads were requested, shown, watched to the end, or tapped, and whether a reward was earned;
- Diagnostics: crash and performance data about the ad SDK itself.
Google uses this data to select and deliver ads, to measure whether they were viewed, to detect fraud and abuse, and, where you have allowed it, to personalize the ads you see across apps. How Google handles this data is described in Google's Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can review and adjust ad personalization in Google's Ads Settings.
Advertisers whose videos appear in the game do not receive any data from us. Any link you tap inside an ad leaves the game and is governed by that advertiser's own privacy policy.
5. Tracking permission and your choices
On first launch, before the first ad is requested, iOS shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asking whether Astrofuse may track you across other companies' apps and websites. What your answer does:
- Allow: Google may use your Advertising Identifier to show ads that are more relevant to you and to link ad views across apps.
- Ask App Not to Track: the game works exactly the same and ads still play, but they are non-personalized and no IDFA is shared. This is the default if you dismiss the prompt.
You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or switch off tracking for all apps there. You can also reset your Advertising Identifier in the same settings area.
Where the law requires separate consent for personalized advertising (for example in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), Astrofuse currently does not ask for it, and ads in those regions are therefore served in non-personalized or limited mode. If we add a consent dialog in a future version, this policy will be updated.
6. Device features the game uses
- Sound and haptics: sound effects, music, and vibration are played locally and can be turned off in the pause menu. No audio is recorded; the game never asks for microphone access.
- Internet access: used solely to load and show ads. The game does not download content updates, check licenses, or contact any server of ours.
Astrofuse does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, health data, or Game Center, and it has no social or sharing features.
7. What our App Store privacy label says
Because of the ad SDK, Astrofuse's App Privacy section on the App Store does not say "Data Not Collected." In line with Google's published disclosure for AdMob, it declares that the app may collect Identifiers (device ID), Usage Data (advertising data and ad interactions), and Diagnostics (crash and performance data), used for third-party advertising and app functionality, and that identifiers may be used for tracking when you allow it. All of that collection is done by Google as described in section 4, not by us.
8. Retention and deletion
- Data on your device stays until you delete the app, which removes it completely.
- Data held by Google is retained under Google's own retention rules, described in Google's data retention policy. We cannot delete it on your behalf because we never hold it, but you can reset your Advertising Identifier and manage ad data through the links in sections 4 and 5.
- Support emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to help you, and deleted afterwards on request.
9. This website
This website is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages, operated by Cloudflare, Inc. (United States). When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as your IP address, user agent, and requested URL in order to deliver the pages and secure them against attacks and abuse. Cloudflare acts as our processor for this hosting and may process the data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States; those transfers are covered by the standard contractual clauses in Cloudflare's data processing addendum. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
The Astrofuse pages set no cookies of their own, load no analytics or advertising scripts, and use only the fonts already on your device; Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if its bot protection is active.
10. Your rights (GDPR and U.S. state privacy laws)
Laws such as the GDPR (EU/EEA), the UK GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA (California), and comparable U.S. state laws give you rights over personal data. How they apply to Astrofuse:
- Access, portability, and erasure of game data: everything is on your device. You can see it in the game and erase it by deleting the app. We hold no copy to hand over.
- Data processed by Google for ads: exercise your rights directly with Google through My Ad Center, Ads Settings, or the contacts in Google's Privacy Policy. Google, not we, controls that data.
- Opting out of personalized ads / "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information": sharing your Advertising Identifier with Google for personalized ads may count as a "sale" or "share" under California law. To opt out, choose Ask App Not to Track in the prompt or in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. We honor that setting, and Google is then served no IDFA. We do not sell or share any other data, because we do not collect any.
- Legal basis (EU/EEA): the on-device processing needed to run the game is performed on the basis of providing the service you asked for. Personalized advertising takes place only with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time through the tracking setting above. Non-personalized ad delivery and fraud prevention rest on the legitimate interest of funding a free game.
If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Poland: the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, UODO). For any rights request or question, write to support@bytechimera.com.
11. Children
Astrofuse is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for all ages, but it is a general-audience game and not directed specifically at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the game has no accounts, chat, or social features through which a child could share information. Ads are requested as general-audience content; the tracking prompt in section 5 is shown by iOS and defaults to no tracking. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child's data has been processed in a way you did not intend, contact us at support@bytechimera.com and we will help you exercise the choices above.
12. Changes
This policy may be updated when Astrofuse's features, advertising partners, or legal obligations change (for example, if we add a consent dialog, leaderboards, or in-app purchases). Significant changes will be published at this same URL, and the "Last updated" date above identifies the current version.
