SwipeCalm for iPhone
Privacy Policy
SwipeCalm processes your photo library on your iPhone. Your photos are not uploaded to SwipeCalm servers.
Effective: August 13, 2026
1. Who we are and scope
The data controller for the SwipeCalm iOS app and this website is Przemysław Bocer, an independent developer based in Poland ("we"). You can contact us about privacy at support@bytechimera.com.
This policy explains how the SwipeCalm iOS app and this website handle information. SwipeCalm does not require an account and does not operate a server that receives your photos.
2. Photos and on-device analysis
When you grant access through Apple Photos, SwipeCalm reads the photos you select or permit so it can display them, organize your review queue, estimate storage, identify similar images, and perform Best Shot analysis. These operations run on your device.
SwipeCalm does not upload your photos, thumbnails, visual feature data, or analysis results to SwipeCalm servers. If you use iCloud Photos, iOS may download an image from your personal iCloud library to your device. Some iCloud-only items may be skipped when they are not locally available.
A left swipe does not immediately delete a photo. It adds a reference to SwipeCalm's in-app trash. Apple Photos removes an item only after you explicitly confirm deletion and approve the system request. Deleted photos then typically remain in the Apple Photos "Recently Deleted" album for up to 30 days (or until you delete them from that album) before Apple Photos removes them permanently.
Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis for this on-device processing is the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): it is the core photo-cleanup function you request from the app. Your photos and analysis results are never used for advertising, marketing, or data mining.
3. Data stored on your device
SwipeCalm stores app state locally, including reviewed-photo identifiers, in-app trash entries (which may include a small thumbnail image of each trashed photo saved on your device so the trash can display it), daily swipe counts, aggregate cleanup statistics, preferences, onboarding state, and temporary analysis cache data. This information supports undo, limits, progress, and restoring the app's interface.
Retention on your device:
- Best Shot analysis cache — kept for up to 7 days, then discarded automatically.
- Trash entries and their thumbnails — kept until you restore the photo or confirm its deletion, at which point the entry and thumbnail are removed.
- Reviewed-photo history, statistics, dismissed-group choices, preferences — kept until you delete the app.
All of the above is removed when you delete the app. Photos themselves remain governed by Apple Photos and your iCloud settings.
4. Purchases and RevenueCat
Apple processes App Store purchases. SwipeCalm uses RevenueCat, Inc. (San Francisco, USA) as a processor to determine Premium entitlement, validate purchases, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and provide us aggregate subscription statistics.
The RevenueCat SDK initializes when the app starts — not only when you buy something — and from that point may send RevenueCat: a randomly generated anonymous app user identifier created on your device, purchase and subscription history, App Store receipt information, and technical details such as app version, device type, operating system, locale, and IP address. SwipeCalm never provides your photos, photo metadata, or analysis results to RevenueCat.
RevenueCat stores this data on servers in the United States. The transfer is safeguarded by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses included in RevenueCat's data processing agreement. RevenueCat retains purchase data for as long as needed to provide the service to us and then deletes or anonymizes it in accordance with its privacy policy and our instructions.
To exercise access or deletion for this data, contact us and we will guide you through retrieving the anonymous identifier from your device; with that identifier we can request deletion from RevenueCat on your behalf. Apple handles purchase information under Apple's privacy policy.
5. Analytics, advertising, and the website
SwipeCalm does not include advertising networks or third-party product analytics SDKs. The public website does not use analytics scripts, advertising trackers, account forms, or cookies set by SwipeCalm. Fonts are served from the website itself, not from a third-party font service.
This website is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages, operated by Cloudflare, Inc. (United States). When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as your IP address, user agent, and requested URL in order to deliver the pages and to secure them against attacks and abuse. Cloudflare acts as our processor for this hosting and content delivery, and may process the data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States; those transfers are covered by the standard contractual clauses in Cloudflare's data processing addendum. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. The site sets no cookies of its own; Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if its bot protection is active.
Support runs over email only. There is no public issue tracker, forum, or account system tied to SwipeCalm, so nothing you send us is published.
6. Sharing and sale
SwipeCalm does not sell personal information. App data is shared with Apple and RevenueCat as needed to provide purchases and Premium entitlement; website visit data is processed by Cloudflare as the site host (section 5). Beyond that, information is disclosed only when required by applicable law.
7. Security and your choices
You control photo access in iOS Settings and can limit the app to selected photos. Revoking access stops SwipeCalm from reading the affected library items. You can remove local app data by deleting the app. Purchase records may remain with Apple and RevenueCat according to their legal and retention obligations.
No method of storage or processing is completely secure, but SwipeCalm reduces exposure by keeping photo processing on your device and collecting no SwipeCalm account profile.
You may request access to or deletion of the purchase-related data described above by contacting us via the route in section 10. Note that anonymous identifiers cannot be linked to you unless you provide us the identifier from your device.
If you are in the EU/EEA, you additionally have the rights under the GDPR to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Poland: the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, UODO). The legal basis for processing purchase data is the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in fraud prevention (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by that law, and we honor universal opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control by design — there is nothing to opt out of.
8. Children
SwipeCalm is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country, up to 16 in the EU/EEA) and does not knowingly collect account or profile information from children. Purchases are subject to Apple ID family and parental controls.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when SwipeCalm's features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
