PaperGuard for iPhone
Start here for questions about scanning, OCR, the Vault, or your subscription. PaperGuard is made by a one-person studio — emails are read by the developer, not a ticket bot.
Email supportHelpful details for a first message: iPhone model, iOS version, app version, and the steps that led to the issue. Never attach scans of IDs, passports, or other sensitive documents — we don't need them to help you, and your documents should stay on your device.

More light and a contrasting background help most. For tricky documents switch to the Manual Camera in the Scan tab and frame the page yourself; you can adjust corners before saving.
Check Settings → OCR Languages and make sure the document's language is selected. Recognition runs on-device — a sharp, well-lit scan makes the biggest difference. The free plan shows the first lines as a preview; full text and search are part of Pro.
iOS handles the Face ID prompt itself. If it fails, use your device passcode as the fallback. Make sure Face ID is enabled for PaperGuard in iOS Settings → Face ID & Passcode → Other Apps.
Spotlight indexes document titles; indexing of document text is off by default and can be enabled in Settings. Identity cards and passports are never indexed by content — by design, for your safety.
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID that started the trial or purchase, then use Restore Purchases in Settings. Subscription state comes from the App Store, so a working internet connection is needed for that one step.
iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → PaperGuard Pro → Cancel. Canceling during the 7-day trial of the yearly plan means you won't be charged; the monthly plan has no trial and is billed on purchase. Apple handles all billing; we never see your payment details.
PaperGuard has no cloud sync by design. Your documents transfer with your normal encrypted iPhone backup (iCloud or computer) when you set up the new device. You can also export important documents as PDFs before switching.
Settings → Clear All Data wipes every document, folder, tag, and signature at once. Deleting the app does the same. Nothing exists anywhere else, so that's the whole story.
